Each piece of Micaela Dietrich jewellery is handcrafted by Micaela in her Melbourne CBD studio. Each piece undergoes a transformative process, from wax to metal, to evolve into a modern day future heirloom.
BRINGING MODERN HEIRLOOMS TO LIFE
INSPIRE
Each piece begins with a moment of inspiration — sometimes drawn from ancient artefacts and fragments of history, other times sparked by the natural beauty of a gemstone.
EXPLORE
From this starting point, Micaela sketches and explores possibilities, allowing the design to take shape intuitively.
CREATE
She then handcrafts the piece in wax, moulding the material, refining the form by feel and by eye until it holds the right balance and energy.
FINESSE
This wax model is cast into solid metal using the lost wax technique — a method steeped in tradition — before Micaela carefully brings the final piece to life.
MODERN HEIRLOOMS
Stone setting, texturing, and polishing are done by hand, allowing each detail to speak. The result is jewellery that feels timeless, intentional, and entirely unique.
FROM WAX TO PRECIOUS METAL
Each ring begins its life in wax, shaped by hand using the ancient art of lost wax casting. Through fire and transformation, the wax disappears, replaced by molten metal—capturing every detail in precious form. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece, infused with intention, story, and soul.
